I was reading Spurgeon’s Morning By Morning devotional and It greatly encouraged me today. I hope that it also encourages you, the reader, with whatever valley you are walking through. I just want to say that, God has not forgotten you.
Sometimes we, as fleshly human beings, need to hear, read & pray the same thing over and over (…and over and over) before the knowledge we know in our head, starts to take root in our hearts. Especially when trying to encourage oneself with God’s goodness during turbulent times. To rejoice in persecution and suffering is never easy, but rejoicing CAN come when we remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness.
The lot is cast into the lap, but it’s every decision is from the Lord.
If the Lord looks after even the casting of lots, don’t you think He can arrange events in your life? Remember that the Savior has said that even sparrows will not fall without our Father’s will.
It would bring you to a holy calm, my friend, if you would remember this. It would relieve your anxiety, and you could live a patient, quiet, and cheerful life- as a Christian should. Hear the prayers of Jesus interceding for you, and ask yourself, “While He prays for me, will the father ever act ungraciously toward me?” If He remembers sparrows, He won’t forget you.
“Cast your Cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall” [Psalm.55.22]
