Every good car has a pair of windsheild wipers attached to it. If your car dosen’t have any you are unprepared for rain, snow, and other things that could cause you trouble on your journey.
The windsheild wipers help you to see clearly when muck is thrown at you.
Just like a car, us Christians need to have our ‘windsheild wipers attached to us’ ready to help us see
clearly in times of confusion or foggyness.
Most of us Christians have windsheild wipers, but a lot of us refuse to use them thinking we know best when ultimately disaster strikes.
Let me explain what I’m talking about.
2 Peter 2:1
[ False] But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves
We need our windsheild wipers on, or as I also like to call it our – crap dectector! We need these so that when false prophets and heresies get intoduced, we can use our wipers and get rid of the muck that tries to stop us from seeing clearly.
The windsheild wipers ….. are the word of God. I don’t care if you say you are an angel of God himself, if you and your theories don’t line up with the word of God I don’t wan’t what you have.
We have become so dependant on assuming that everything a ‘preacher’ or authority figure says is right on without checking it out for ourselves. We get captivated by illusions and miracles, when in essence false prophets seek to captivate through just that. ‘Signs and wonders’. Ex. When moses turned his staff turned into a snake the magicians did the exact same thing, although Moses’s staff swallowed up the other guys, this sort of thing still happens today and I’ve seen tons of it… except that Christian believers are getting caught up in the magicians version of the Gospel. (Which is no gospel at all).
Someone comes along and says that they have healed a person… and immediately they have people who cling to them like glue … even if what they were saying is a lie. We as Christians have to start seeking spiritual maturity to the point where we don’t listen to crap, and we listen to the discernment of the Holy Spirit.
Do you know what God thinks about those who are constantly seeking signs and wonders? Read Matthew 16:4, Luke 11:29, Mark 8:12 and find out for yourselves.
The heart of the matter is that when someone says something about the word or God.. but dosen’t sound right you need to crack open your bible and line up what someone is saying with the word. If it does line up…. great, if it dosen’t use your windsheild wipers and don’t let it fog your vision. You want to be seeing clearly not being decived. The word of God is Gods word.. listen to it. He gave it to us for a reason.
It’s our survival guide for anything and everything we will encounter in this life.
Lets start being all that God wants us to be… and lets listen to God… not man.
